Welcome to the Williston, FL EAA Chapter #1484 at the X60 Williston Municipal Airport. Formerly known as Montbrook Army Air Field during World War II, the airfield was opened as a US Army Air Forces installation on January 1, 1942. It appears to have been closed by the end of 1944.
In 1974, the facility was deeded to the City of Williston. It serves as a basic utility airport in Levy County for the City of Archer, City of Bronson, City of McIntosh, City of Reddick and the City of Williston. It is one of two airports in the county, serving alongside the George T. Lewis Airport in Cedar Key.
Our EAA Chapter has about 30 members that get together on First Tuesdays of every Month at 6:00 PM. After enjoying a fabulous dinner prepared by the internationally renowned, Cordon Blue chef "Steve Barrieux" always delighting us with perfectly grilled burgers and dogs. We then dedicate one to two hours to discuss current flying related events and often organize workshops to discuss "What would you do if...." scenarios.
We are an active group of pilots always welcoming new members in out little part of the world. Come and visit us at X60.
